Tip: how to protect your computer  / 

This month, four fellows and one professor lost their computer data due to unprotected systems. 

Computers nowadays are easily infested by viruses, worms, and spyware. It is not my intention to  lecture about that, but to share with you what I have in my PCs. tks to these tools, I have no delays, no pop-ups, no stubborn windows...

This is what I have in my two computers, including my laptop:

1. Norton Internet Security ( antivirus and firewall) ~ approx $ 70 dollars (get it at Bestbuy or Compusa)

2. SPYBOT  Search and Destroy v1.3 (FREE)> an anti-spyware>  download it here

3. AD-AWARE SE v1.05 (FREE)> spyware-removal > download it here
( There is a new version)

4. GOOGLE toolbar (FREE) > anti-pop-ups > download it here

5. If you are AOL user, look for pop ups control, in "help" section

6. If you are a Windows MESSENGER user, change the controls: Tools > options > Uncheck "Run this program when Windows starts"

7. If you have problems with Real Player > do the same

Just Do IT !    ; > ) 

by the way, I friend of mine did apply spybot and adaware the first time in his computer and found 875 spyware ! (you got the idea ...)
