 ARTIFACT

  • The artifact for these courses is the completion and presentation of an interdisciplinary curriculum unit.

  • This artifact must be an original document consisting of a six week unit plan incorporating lessons and activities for Social Studies, Language Arts, Math and Science.

  • Each lesson plan should be 50 minutes in length and include: Standards, Procedures, Assessments, ESOL Strategies and Special Education Strategies. Please use the e-portfolio as your guide.

Directions

From Miami Beach: 
Take 395 West to the 836 West. Pass the Miami International Airport.  836 West dead-ends into the Florida Turnpike. Turn left onto it, continue south to exit 16. Leave Turnpike-come down ramp to your right. You are close to the Zoo.  Make a right turn at the first traffic light and then at the second light another right.  You will then be going west on SW 152 Street. Move to the left lane and enter the Zoo at SW 124 Avenue to you left.

From Broward and Palm Beach:
Take the Florida Turnpike (821) South to the Homestead Extension.  Take the Homestead Extension to Exit #16.  Leave Turnpike-come down ramp to your right.  You are close to the Zoo.  Make a right turn at the first traffic light and then at the second light another right.  You will then be going west on SW 152 Street (Coral Reef Drive).  Move to the left lane and enter the Zoo at SW 124 Avenue to you left.

From I-95 Heading South
South to end of I-95.  It feeds into U.S. 1 on the right.  Continue south on U.S. 1 to 152 Street (Coral Reef Drive).  Make a right onto it.  Proceed west for 3 miles.  Enter Zoo on the left at SW 124 Avenue.

The Gold Coast Railroad Museum is located at 12450 SW 152nd Street, Miami, Florida, U.S.A. on property adjacent to Metro Miami-Dade County's "MetroZoo".

From the North, take the Florida's Turnpike south to exit #16 (S.W. 152 Street). Make a right turn (west) on S.W. 152 Street and continue for one mile to the Miami's MetroZoo entrance on the left (south) side of the road (S.W. 124 Avenue/Zoo Drive). Turn left and enter MetroZoo's complex and look for the Museum's parking on the right side.
