DEP 2000 PROJECT

The following project is a course requirement and will severely affect your grade if not completed.

  • You can receive a maximum of forty (40) points toward your final grade for this paper.

  • Select ONE project from the attached packet.

  • You are to conduct a small research project and write a report documenting your findings.

  • A review of the material in chapter 2 on research methods is good preparation for this project.

  • The report should assume the reader knows nothing about your purpose or procedures and describe these in the introduction of the report.

  • Be sure that the reader will have a clear picture of the sample you used in your study.

  • Finally, you should have a conclusion that restates the purpose and results of your research.

Important information:

  • I prefer to have this paper typed double spaced, and expect it to be between one and two double spaced pages in length; if you do not type, I will accept it in neat handwriting. (Hand-written papers should be two to four pages in length.)

  • All projects should have data sheets stapled to the written report. Use the questionnaire included in the directions to produce data sheets. DO NOT SUBMIT SUMMARY SHEETS AS YOUR DATA SHEET.

  • Failure to address all the items required on the instruction sheet will result in the loss of points.

  • Your essay should reflect correct English usage and style, points will be deducted from papers containing many English errors.

  • Submit your paper, stapled in the upper left-hand comer only, please no folders or binders!

  • Failure to submit your report in person, or by mail will result in the loss of two points for each day it is late, including weekends.
